Puppy Lovin

The indecency of it all!! HAHA

Learning to Knit is a Lesson in Patience

I'd never really had a desire to knit, but I got some yarn and knitting needles for christmas and now here I am obsessed w/ knitting baby blankets. So w/ the combined help and talents of my mother in law and mom and the pre-knit pep talk from my new sister here I go... The yellow one is my first ever. Not really big enough to be anything, but a soft and cuddly swatch of prettiness. The pastel one is one I just started. It will hopefully be big enough to call a baby blanket...I hope. Anyway, I find it very relaxing and Mitch thinks it's sexy (he would).

My new favorite thing

Fuji Apple Candles from Illuminations. Smells like you've just bitten into a gloriously juicy make your chin sticky apple. YUM!! My favorite candle EVER!!

A Quickie

I had a nice large blog all typed out and my computer whet and CRASHED on me. I give up. I'm taking it out to the parking lot and running over it w/ my car. Grrr. Ok well to sum up a long blog cuz I don't really feel like typing it all out again:

1: Got my bed back as the dogs are now sleeping in the kennel
2: lost my camera dodad that downloads pics to the computer...therefore no pictures in a while.
3: Maddie got big news from her dad that she is going to be a big sister AGAIN!!

Better sign off before my computer crashes AGAIN!

Stephanie Meyers: A Huge Hit

I decided to figure out what all the buzz was about w/ these Stephanie Meyers Vampire books. I wasn't going to go there, but a Christian friend of mine absolutely loved them, so I thought I'd at least give the first book, Twilight a try. WOW!! I really couldn't put it down. What a great teenage love story. It is very similar to Romeo and Juliet. I would (and am) even going to let my daughter read it. No language what-so-ever. No sex. No gore. Just a sweet love story. The vampires in the book do not actually "hunt" humans they hunt animals, and not because they don't prefer human blood (cuz I guess it tastes better), but they choose to stray from the normal vampire behavior. it's a unique take. Resisting temptation is a major theme of this book. The vampire falls in love w/ the woman, but it is difficult to resist the temptation to take her life because her blood smells esp good. The vampires that hunt humans are seen as evil. Of course you have to have a battle of good vs evil. It was a fun read. I'm excited to delve into the next book, New Moon. I doubt the movie will be as good as the book (so many things get left out), but I'm excited to see it too as it was filmed just a few miles from here.
